I am an outcome of trauma, culture, societal expectations, sexism, classism, depression and anxiety, low-income living; I am the child of an addict; I am an American who did the opposite of what most Americans do- Be born in the United States, and then grow up somewhere completely different.
I am the outcome of all of these things, which have certainly affected me, but do not define me at all. They are a part of me, but they are not who I am.
I am powerful. I am an actress. I am a singer. I am a writer. I am now a model, too. I'm a very Mexican Latina, fluent in two languages. I'm a bubbly, smart, and spunky young woman with big dreams, and I'M GOING TO MAKE IT!
I may not have gotten to choose where I came from and the circumstances I grew up in, but I can definitely choose who I am now. I'm going to change the world, that's what I allow to define me.
Do you know who you are, outside of what they told you you could be?
Be it. Do it.
I believe in you, and the world is waiting for us.
