"Using affirmations enables you to change negative thinking habits into positive ones. An affirmation is a series of positively stated words affirming your health, strength, and wisdom" (Mariechild, Mother Wit, pg. 71). I've made it a habit of either listening to positive affirmations throughout the day (links below), when I catch myself ruminating or having negative thoughts; or repeating these affirmations to myself, if/when I'm feeling down and unconfident. I can't even explain how good it feels to talk to yourself in such a loving way. Don't wait for a romantic partner, or even friend, to reaffirm how awesome you are. You are the creator of your life. Reestablish your connection with yourself and just tell yourself you're awesome already. Go ahead, do it now!

Here are some of my favorite affirmations:
- I am awesome and talented.
- I am beautiful.
- I am a calm, patient, and peaceful person.
- I am happy, healthy, and whole.
- I am loved.
- I am lovable, even when I make mistakes.
- I am a strong, centered, and creative individual.
- I am where I'm supposed to be.
- I am able to express myself clearly, honestly, and directly.
- Even though I am not perfect and make mistakes, I am still succeeding.
- I am the creatress (or creator/creatxr) of my life.
What are your some of favorite affirmations? Which qualities do you wish to affirm to yourself?
